Vinted Users Voice Displeasure Over Sizing Updates
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.
The popular resale platform has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Social Media Backlash
Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms.
They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Previously, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Shopper Experiences
One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she said.
Necessary Adjustments
Another shopper, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item".
"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Service Background
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options following member complaints.
